Asian Waterbird Count is an annual event conducted all over south India for the past 30 years to monitor the global wetland bird population. The event is organised in the month of January every year and in Wayanad, it is coordinated by Hume centre for Ecology and wild life Biology with the support of Social Forestry, Wayanad District.

This year, the programme is planned on 11th and 12th January, 2020. About 50 participants are attending the programme.
